The BBD5 Broken Bag Detector, using AC Coupled Triboelectric technology, continuously monitors a dust control system for filter media leakage.
The charge developed by dust particles travelling through a system is transferred as the particles pass or impact the remote sensing element. The BBD5 measures this as current which represents linearily the concentration, or mass flow rate, of the particles in the gas stream.
After amplifying, rectifying and further filtering the AC component of this current, the signal is sent via data cable to the BBD5 control unit for further processing and display.
The BBD5 system detects all particles, regardless of composition, and, because of its high sensitivity due to its AC coupled technology, can monitor a wide range of particle densities down to extremely small particles such as galvanising fumes of 0.1um.
